Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), met with a delegation led by General Miroslav Lorinc, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on ANAMA’s history and activities, the scale of landmine contamination in Azerbaijan, its consequences, and the progress of humanitarian demining operations in the liberated territories. It was emphasized that clearing the liberated territories of landmines and other explosive ordnance is of critical importance for ensuring public safety, implementing infrastructure projects, restoring economic activity, and ensuring the sustainable implementation of the Great Return program.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on prospects for future cooperation, potential support from the Slovak Republic for humanitarian demining activities in Azerbaijan, training programs, the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
