The Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) report that a landmine incident occurred on October 8, 2026 in the Daghmashanli village of the liberated Jabrayil region.

Orkhan Gahramanov, a resident of Jabrayil region, born in 2000, stepped on an anti-personnel mine while grazing animals in an area that had not been cleared of landmines. As a result of the incident, Orkhan Gahramanov was sustained various injuries.

The Jabrayil district prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Prosecutor's Office once again urge citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules, pay attention to mine danger signs, avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and not interfere in areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
