The Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) report that a landmine incident occurred on September 10, 2026 in the Papravand village of the liberated Aghdara region.

Sarkhan Rustamzade, a resident of Tartar district, born in 2005, was sustained minor injuries when the horse he was riding stepped on an anti-personnel mine in an area of that had not been cleared of mines.

The citizen was evacuated from the dangerous area by ANAMA employees.

The Tartar district prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Prosecutor's Office once again urge citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules, pay attention to mine danger signs, avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and not interfere in areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
