The Press Service of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) report that a landmine incident occurred on August 3, 2026 in the Chardagli village of the liberated Aghdara region.

Alzamin Surkhayli, born in 1994, an employee of a non-governmental organization involved in humanitarian demining operations hit an hit an anti-personnel mine while performing his duties. As a result of the incident, Alzamin Surkhayli was sustained injuries to his right leg.

Another employee, Fuzuli Mirzayev, born in 1998, received minor injuries during the incident.

The injured employees were evacuated to the district hospital. Their condition is satisfactory.
