Mine incident occured in Aghdara region
The Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) report that a landmine incident occurred on April 1, 2026 near the Sugovushan settlement of the liberated Aghdara region.
Mahir Maharramov, a resident of Hajigarvand village of Aghdam district, born in 1982, was sustained injuries to his right leg as a result of an anti-personnel mine explosion in an area of the former contact line that had not been cleared of mines.
The Tartar district prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.
ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Prosecutor's Office once again urge citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules, pay attention to mine danger signs, avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and not interfere in areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
