ANAMA delegation held meetings at a number of companies during the visit to the People's Republic of China

As part of an official visit to the People's Republic of China the delegation led by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) held meetings at a number of Chinese companies specializing in the production of mine clearance equipment.

During a meeting held at Nuctech, a company operating in the field of security and inspection technologies, ANAMA delivered a comprehensive presentation on the mine problem facing our country, along with the carried out activities and the methodologies used to address it.

Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Agency stated that the mine clearance is an important part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries and that the visit is a result of the Joint Statement signed between the leaders of the two countries and the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Humanitarian Demining signed between ANAMA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

During the meeting, Lu Xinping, the company's Deputy Director for Asia and the CIS countries, provided detailed information about the company's activities and current technological capabilities.

An exchange of views was held on testing the X-ray device used for detecting explosive ordnance, as well as on improvements to its technical specifications.                          The compatibility of the equipment with the activities of ANAMA and the possibilities for its use in operations were also considered.

The delegation was briefed on the company’s production process and observed demonstrations of various X-ray systems for different applications, as well as other advanced technological equipment.

As part of the visit, the delegation held a meeting at Beijing Heweiyongtai Sci & Tech, where a presentation was delivered on the company’s specialized technical equipment and innovative solutions, and discussions were held on technologies applicable to humanitarian demining and potential areas of cooperation.

During the meetings, both parties emphasized that developing mutual cooperation and applying modern technologies would contribute to the more effective conduct of humanitarian demining activities.
