The Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) report that a landmine incident occurred on March 12, 2026 in the Ashagi Veysalli village of the liberated Khojavend region.

Ramiz Hajiyev, a resident of Aghdam region, born in 1968, was killed as a result of his horse stepping on an anti-tank mine while grazing animals in an area of the former contact line that had not been cleared of mines.

The district prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Prosecutor's Office once again urge citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules, pay attention to mine danger signs, avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and not interfere in areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
