The delegation led by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held an expanded meeting at the Peoples Liberation Army Engineering University located in Nanjing, as part of a business trip to the People's Republic of China.

At the meeting, Major General Zhu Xiaoqian, the President of the University provided the delegation with detailed information about the activities of the institution and the scientific research projects implemented in the field of engineering and technology.

It was emphasized that the meeting reflects the positive outcome of the Joint Statement signed on 23 April 2025 between the leaders of Azerbaijan and China in Beijing, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Humanitarian Demining signed between ANAMA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

The parties discussed opportunities for the application of modern technologies in the field of demining and potential prospects for cooperation in the relevant areas.

During the meeting with the Head of the University’s Department for Humanitarian Mine Action Training, the delegation received detailed information about the training programs organized at the institution, their content and directions.

The delegation also got acquainted with the relevant laboratories and training infrastructure of the University.

As part of the visit, the delegation was introduced to the University’s modern material and technical base, observed the laboratories where scientific research is conducted in the field of mine clearance, detection and disposal of explosive devices. They also became familiarwith the practical training organized at the training ground located at the University and were briefed on the methodological approaches applied in the mine-clearance training process and the technical equipment used during the training.

It should be noted that the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to China aims to expand international cooperation in the field of mine action, explore advanced technologies and opportunities for cooperation with companies operating in the production of mine clearance equipment.
