Mine incident occured in Aghdam region

The Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) report that a landmine incident occurred on December 17, 2025 at approximately 22:00 in the Chamanli village of the liberated Aghdam region.


Gadir Mammadov, a resident of Sarijali village, born in 1982, was injured as a result of an anti-tank mine explosion while while plowing land with a tractor in an area of the former contact line that had not been cleared of mines. The injured person was evacuated to the district hospital.


The Aghdam district prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.


ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Prosecutor's Office once again urge citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules, pay attention to mine danger signs, avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and not interfere in areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
