Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), met with Ambassador Tobias Privitelli, Director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).

During the meeting, Ambassador Privitelli was provided with a detailed presentation on the mine contamination challenge facing Azerbaijan, as well as the measures undertaken to eliminate this threat and the key activities carried out by ANAMA.

The sides also exchanged views on the implementation of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Providing Support to Mine Action Activities in the Republic of Azerbaijan", signed earlier this year between ANAMA and GICHD, a prominent international organization in the mine action sector.

In addition, discussions covered cooperation in the areas of experience and training exchange, information management, application of innovative approaches, capacity building, and prospects for collaboration within joint projects.

It should be noted that Thomas Stähli, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Azerbaijan, also attended the meeting.
