A meeting was held at ANAMA with the delegation from United Kingdom

Samir Poladov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Edward Evans, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to our country.

Samir Poladov informed the guests about the landmine problem in our country, the consequences caused by mines, the activities carried out to address this problem, the results achieved, as well as international cooperation in the field of mine action. He noted that Great Britain has supported the humanitarian demining activities carried out in our country from the first day and emphasized the existence of quite successful projects in this field.

During the meeting, Edward Evans acknowledged the significant scale of the landmine problem that Azerbaijan faced and appreciated the work done in this direction.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on expanding UK's support for the humanitarian demining activities carried out in our country, increasing existing cooperation in this field, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
