ARTICLE ABOUT TRAINING COURSES FOR THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF AZERBAIJAN

ANAMA TSQA Division beginning from December 2014, conducts IMAS and NMAS compliant demining and EOD-I training courses for MIA Azerbaijan / Internal Forces staff. 100 staff has already been trained. Despite the fact that Azerbaijan has its own military engineering forces dealing with mines and explosives, ANAMA provides a humanitarian demining skills and knowledge based on the requirements of United Nations mine action standards. Trainings for MIA consisted of the following key subjects: Safety and technical standards, Land mines, Special explosive devices, Unexploded Ordnance, Hand grenades, artillery and mortar shells, rockets, cluster munitions, booby traps and improvised explosive devices, communications, usage of magnetic locators and mine detectors, manual mine clearance techniques, Introduction to type of surveys, Mine Risk Education, navigation, rout clearance, remote access to buildings and vehicles, pulling of mines, casualty evacuation techniques, practical exercises on demining with wireless training mine simulators, area visual search techniques, introduction to explosives and demolition works, estimation of a danger area, charge placement, live explosive ordnance disposal and etc.
