As a part of initiative of United Nations Development Program, on September 28, 2009 ANAMA conducted Mine Risk Education Training for 18 stuff members of UN entities, under the leadership of Mr. Bruno Pouezat, UNDP Resident Representative. In his opening speech, Mr. Nazim Ismaylov, Director of ANAMA welcomed the participants and made a brief information on agency's activities, projects implemented to date and main points of national mine action strategy. He specially emphasized the support provided by UNDP which allowed Agency to visibly develop the national mine action capacity. ANAMA documentary illustrating all the aspects of mine action activity in the country was presented to the participants. Mr. Musa Jalalov, MRE department manager delivered presentation reflecting safe behavior rules and messages, mine fatalities, injuries, economical damages and number of mine victims and survivors in Azerbaijan. At the end of training all participants received different types of MRE materials. We are going to continue MRE trainings and seminars for all organizations and entities close to mine contaminated areas.
