From 18 September to 13 October 2011, ANAMA Regional Operations Manager participated in the third annual Explosive Remnants of War International Senior Managers Training Course conducted by the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation (NCDR). During the four-week training course, funded by the US Department of State’s Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement, 21 mine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) action managers from 15 countries around the world received instruction in every aspect of ERW action management, in order to help build the capacities of their countries’ national ERW action programs. The Explosive Remnants of War International Senior Managers Training Course (ERW-TC) 2011 is a training course designed for middle- and upper-level managers in national mine and ERW action organizations. The goals of the course are to provide top-quality training to ERW eradication professionals, as well as to help build a global network of ERW experts who can build on the friendships made during the course to help each other deliver their countries’ ERW action programs more effectively. Funded by the United States Department of State’s Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement, the course covers all aspects of ERW action management, including both general management skills and ERW-specific applications.
