ANAMA Signs Memorandum of Understanding with State Customs Committee

On March 30th, the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the State Customs Committee (SCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the humanitarian mine action in Azerbaijan.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the chairman of the State Customs Committee, Lieutenant General Shahin Bagirov, met with Vugar Suleymanov, the chairman of the Board of ANAMA. The meeting was attended by deputy chairmen of the committee and heads of relevant structural units from both organizations.

At the meeting, the participants emphasized the significance of supporting demining operations in the recently liberated areas of Azerbaijan and enhancing cooperation in this regard.

The MoU aims to provide support for these operations in the liberated territories, optimize the utilization of available resources and opportunities, exchange best practices, organize specialized trainings, and foster cooperation in the area of canine training.

Additionally, the Cynological Center of the State Customs Committee discussed with ANAMA ways to support the Agency in meeting its needs in the demining operations, including providing educational trainings on the dangers of mines and explosive ordnance for the Center's employees, as well as training for service dogs and their guides. The two organizations also explored opportunities for joint cooperation in this direction.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was subsequently signed between the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the State Customs Committee to support the humanitarian mine action efforts in Azerbaijan.
