ANAMA and IOM Discuss Cooperation on Demining and Assistance to Mine Victims

Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) met with Vladimir Georgiyev, Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Representative Office in Azerbaijan, and Dominique Eugene Bollier, Regional Security Specialist for Europe and Central Asia, to discuss prospects of cooperation between ANAMA and IOM.

During the meeting, Head of ANAMA shared details about its establishment, objectives, tasks, and ongoing efforts to address the existing mine threat in Azerbaijan. The parties engaged in discussions regarding the extent of contamination of mines and other explosives in the liberated territories, demining operations for their safe restoration, assistance to mine victims, and potential areas for cooperation.

The meeting emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts and cooperation in raising awareness about the dangers of explosive ordnance and safeguarding lives from the threat of landmines.
