ANAMA hosts an event to coordinate interagency activities aimed at combating the mine threat

In order to further strengthen joint interagency activities in the field of combating the mine threat, “Combating the Mine Threat in the Liberated Territories: Plans, Priorities, Communication and Awareness” panel discussion was held at the initiative of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA).

The event was attended by authorized representatives of state agencies represented in the relevant working groups of the Interdepartmental Center of the Coordination Headquarters, established for the centralized solution of issues in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Chairman of the Management Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov opened the event with an introductory speech and gave information about the scale of mass pollution of the liberated territories with mines and explosive ordnance, large-scale mine action carried out by relevant agencies and other activities in the field of combating the mine threat and stressed the importance of the panel discussion.

There were discussions during the event about how to strengthen joint efforts against illegal visits to territories that have been liberated from occupation, ensuring the safety of citizens returning to their native lands, working in and traveling in those territories, as well as residents of other regions and villages affected by the war, combating against threat of landmines and improving communication between relevant institutions during landmine incidents.

ANAMA presented a presentation reflecting awareness activities carried out jointly with international and local organizations within the framework of “Awareness on the Danger of Explosive Ordnance” activities.
